A very fine oil on canvas, signed lower left by Léon Brunard (1872-1931), a Lyon-born artist from Bourg-en-Bresse, active at the turn of the 20th century and known for his creations in the decorative arts. This composition depicts a charming, lively harbor scene, where several figures stroll along a promenade bordering the water. Boats rest peacefully near a small landing stage, while to the left, a waterfront establishment can be glimpsed, marked by a "Restaurant" sign. The scene is punctuated by tall trees and utility poles that structure the perspective and naturally guide the eye towards the bay and the houses on the opposite bank. The light and luminous palette, dominated by the blues of the sky and sea, is balanced with pinkish and purplish tones on the ground, giving the whole a soft, summery atmosphere.
