Pair of Louis XV period armchairs with flat backs, in water-green painted wood, stamped by Claude-Louis Burgat.
Received master in 1744, a carpenter established in Paris, rue de Cléry then rue Feydeau, whose production was of high quality and renowned for its Louis XV chairs.
Cabinetmaker mentioned in the Dictionnaire des ébénistes et menuisiers français du XVIIIe siècle by Pierre Kjellberg (page 124).
This pair of seats, dating from the 18th century, rests on four curved legs.
The crosspieces are molded and adorned with flower and foliage decorations.
