Mahogany Pedestal Table, Early 19th Century
Beautiful circular pedestal table in Cuban mahogany veneer with cylindrical shaft resting on a 3-branch base also in mahogany veneer.
The top is composed of a wide mahogany veneer belt in which is embedded a black marble decorated with a star realized in 2 colored marbles (white and cherry)
1 crack is to be noted (large white line), but without risk for the solidity of the top, probably original, linked to the inlay of the star.
The veneer is in very good condition, and the piece was pad varnished 2 years ago.
Very handsome piece of furniture, simple in form but very elegant and unusual.
It has its original castors.
