Guy Pichon was born in Cherbourg on May 1, 1933 to a family of shipyard carpenters. An unconditional lover of the Normandy seaside, his main influences were Marquet, Derain and Dufy.From the tip of La Hague to Dieppe, he tirelessly explored the region's landscapes and shores: churches and beaches, boats, waters, skies, clouds, shores with their reflections and changing colors, small figures barely sketched out in the manner of Marquet.
A member of the Salon des Artistes Indépendants de Paris and the Artistes Indépendants Normands, he regularly took part in events and salons. He died in Rouen in 2007.
