Paul Rue Crozant La Sedelle (1866/1954) ( Alluaud ,detroy Madeline )
New and Rare oil on panel signed lower left, Paul Rue artist attached to the Crozant School, depicts with finesse the ruins of Crozant overlooking the Sédelle valley, an emblematic site of the Creuse.
The scene is organized around a hilly landscape in warm tones, where ochre and reddish-toned rocks contrast with touches of vegetation and the blue of the stream that meanders in the foreground.
The pictorial treatment, characterized by supple brushstrokes and a search for light, is fully in the spirit of the Crozant School, close to Impressionist currents. The natural perspective guides the eye towards the valley, accentuating the depth and harmony of the landscape
