The “Bing Thuan” was a ship that sank in the 17th century, in 1608, and whose wreck was discovered in 2001 off the coast of Vietnam. These plates were part of the cargo belonging to I Sin Ho, a merchant who was transporting a shipment of silk and Chinese goods from China to Johor for the Dutch when his ship sank off the coast of southern Vietnam.
