A Gentleman's Breeches In Changeable Silk - Provence Louis XVI Period Circa 1780

A gentleman's breeches with large bridge in green and red silk change, lined with brown mottled coutil, it comes from an 18th-century Provencal nobleman's wardrobe. The silk change twill background features mottled tones in different colors depending on the light. The breeches are high-waisted, with a wide buttoned waistband and a large easement bridge featuring large coutil pockets: two front ones with large bottoms and two side ones with slits and buttons. An original yellow silk bourette tie at the back. These Provençal breeches are fully lined in brown mottled coutil with buttoned tabs below the knee. Slightly visible masculine stains on the front. The silk is slightly altered on the rubbed areas, including the buttons. No major damage. Good overall condition in terms of color and conservation. Outstanding collector's item.
