Pair Of Bronze Torches, 19th Century, Empire Style

Pair of torches in finely chased and gilded bronze, resting on a circular tripod base adorned with foliage motifs and enamelled reserves in deep blue tones.

The shaft features a winged figure in the round, treated in the antique style, representing a putto or genie holding the binet, giving the whole a refined sculptural character and great decorative presence.

The bobèches and candle holders are highlighted with openwork and enamelled decoration, using a classical ornamental vocabulary inspired by Antiquity, typical of the Empire / neoclassical taste.

French work of fine quality, combining fine chasing, decorative richness and balanced proportions.
