Iznik Earthenware Dish With Saz Palm - Circa 1600
ROUND IZNIK EARTHENWARE PLATE WITH SAZ LEAF DECOR
Round plate made of siliceous earthenware, featuring a polychrome “Saz” style decoration under a lead-glaze.
The center features a radiant floral composition centered on a large curved Saz leaf,
surrounded by tulips, blooming roses, and hyacinth stems in shades of tomato red
and emerald green. The rim is decorated with the traditional “waves and rocks” motif in black spirals.
The reverse is simply decorated with small alternating blue and green floral medallions.

Good condition: No major cracks or previous restoration, retaining a clear resonance and a beautiful luster of the glaze. Authentic patina of age with a fine network of natural crazing. Shows slight wear on the rim and small superficial chips in the glaze. Features a traditional mounting system (holes in the base).
