Third Intermediate Period (1070-664 B.c.) Bronze And Glass Sarcophagus Eye Mount
Magnificent bronze and glass sarcophagus eyepiece holder with exceptional patina, dating from the Third Intermediate Period of Ancient Egypt (1070-664 BC). Its beautiful almond shape reproduces the kohl make-up typical of the period. This holder was attached to the top of a sarcophagus as a decorative element, allowing the deceased to look through the sarcophagus and catch a glimpse of the afterlife.
