A Very Large Walnut Lectern
A very large solid walnut music stand from the mid-19th century, circa 1830-1,850. The lectern (60 by 52 cm) can be raised a further 31 cm. A double-lectern model, it stands on a baluster foot with key and 4 moving legs terminating in casters.
It is carved with decorative motifs in painted wood with foliage, monogrammed AM (for Ave Maria) and a messenger bird on the other side.
