Shigeyoshi Koyama born in Osaka, Japan in 1940. At the age of 22, he moved to Tokyo and began his career as a painter. In 1970, he made his first trip to Paris, where he spent six months. From there, he criss-crossed the country and discovered Cadaqués in Catalonia, a town he would never really leave again.

Contemplative mythology around a place catalyzed by light. Shigeyoshi Koyama observes nature with an all-Japanese sensibility. True to the Far Eastern tradition, the canvas appears as a space for meditation, where the vibrant, mysterious atmosphere of Cadaquès is perpetually interpreted.
