Charming solid silver covered box made by Hénin & Cie, active in Paris in the second half of the 19th century.
Bearing the Minerve 1er titre hallmark (950/1000) and the Hénin & Cie master hallmark.
The body is richly adorned with a rocaille decoration in relief, composed of cartouches, scrolls, foliage and asymmetrical motifs inspired by the Louis XV style.
The lid, with its cut-out contours, echoes this aesthetic with engraved and repoussé decoration, centered on a stylized ornamental motif, framed by foliage.
The rim is underlined by a gadrooned frieze, bringing rhythm and elegance to the whole.
Very fine table or toilet object, typical of the historicist taste of the 19th century, combining decorative richness and quality of execution.
