Exceptional blue earthenware scarab bearing a blessing formula dedicated to Amun-Ra. The scarab features finely detailed naturalistic carving on its dorsal side, with incised elytra and prothorax. The engraved base is adorned with a hieroglyphic inscription nfr-imn-ra Saw-sSm - "it is good when Amun-Ra protects and guides!"
The scarab is set in an elegant 20th-century yellow gold swivel mount, decorated with twisted borders and allowing rotation to reveal alternately the carved back and the base-seal.
