Large Greek-style Vase After The Antique ( 41 Cm) , Painted Terracotta, 1st Half 20th Century.
Artist: D'après L'antique
Large Greek-style vase in the form of an amphora with a wide flared neck and a globular belly decorated with black figures on mythological subjects and featuring two lateral handles ...
Important for its size (41 cm high), this beautiful vase reflects the codes of Attic black-figure ceramics typical of the period from the early 7th to the late 6th century B.C.: the elegant, uncluttered shape of a large amphora designed to hold wine, oil or condiments, the finesse of the black figures incised into the terracotta and the beautiful surface patina.
In excellent condition, with no breakage or restoration, it is a very interesting example of the fine reproductions still made entirely by hand (turning and shaping the terracotta as well as laying the decoration and chasing the black figures).
NB/ Possible shipment to France via Colissimo with tracking and insured against signature: 30 euros . Other destinations on request.
