He was a cabinetmaker specializing in Seating , but also made a few pieces of furniture , including this Console .
Elegant Louis XVI period console table in finely carved wood with an antique patina, French work from the second half of the 18th century.
Half-moon shaped, it features a superb top in Breche d'Alep marble, in warm shades of ochre, brown and red, perfectly fitted to the belt.
The latter is adorned with a delicate carved decoration of interlacing and rosettes, emblematic of the Louis XVI neoclassical repertoire.
It rests on two console-shaped uprights with upper scrolls, linked by an elegant arched brace, centered by a large foliage motif with acanthus decoration, of very fine sculptural quality.
The old stone-gray patina, with harmonious wear, highlights the relief of the decoration with refinement and gives the piece all the authenticity sought after in 18th-century furniture. The
