Barthélémy Rieumes, Pair Of Saltcellars, Silver, Toulouse 1756
Artist: Barthélémy Rieumes
Pair of cast silver salt cellars, scrolled foot model, the lids in the shape of shells, the body engraved with a knight's coat of arms. The lids are stamped with the small goldsmith's hallmark.
Toulouse 1756.
Master goldsmith Barthélémy Rieumes received in 1715.
Weight 278g - length 7.9cm - width 6.2cm - height 4.4cm.
Condition, good, traces of use. The bodies and lids are hallmarked. The lids are original (rare). They are in cast silver and not stamped. Two glass interiors were custom-made later to avoid salt corrosion. One has a small chip. The hinge of one salt shaker is slightly missing, but this does not prevent it from working properly.
