Silver Reliquary 1st Class Relic St. James The Great + Wax Seal 19th Cent

19th-century reliquary containing a First-Class relic of Saint James the Greater, one of the principal Apostles and an important figure of Christian pilgrimage tradition. The sacred relic is carefully displayed beneath glass and arranged according to established ecclesiastical practice, reflecting the refined craftsmanship and devotional character of the period.

At the back of the reliquary, we find an episcopalian wax seal holding the threads together and guaranteeing the authenticity of the holy relic. These elements remain intact, attesting to the reliquary’s ecclesiastical provenance and preserved condition. The reverse also features a devotional representation of the Virgin of the Rosary, further enhancing its spiritual and artistic significance.

This reliquary embodies the rich devotional culture of the 19th century, uniting apostolic veneration with Marian devotion in a finely crafted object of faith.
