Superb and rare Renaissance period bargueno in walnut and fruitwood marquetry from the late 16th century -Spain
The bargueño, an emblematic piece of furniture from 16th and 17th century from Spain, embodies the refinement and craftsmanship of the period. This sumptuous walnut cabinet opens with a flap, revealing a richly decorated interior, composed of 10 drawers.
This beautiful bargueno stands out by its fine wood marquetry work on its flap, two sides and interior.
A Moresque influece that tells us it is still from the late 16th century Renaissance period. The more classical barguenos are posterior.
Original working lock and key
It rests on a very fine table featuring a superb one-piece Renaissance walnut top and later base (19th century)
