A lacquer suzuribako decorated in raised maki-e, depicting a floral composition of peonies and irises rendered in gold on a deep black ground. The decoration features layers of lacquer and gold powder, creating a subtle sense of relief and depth in the arrangement of flowers and leaves. The interior is finished in nashiji lacquer, enriched with mother-of-pearl inlays depicting maple leaves arranged along a stylized stream. Complete with its traditional writing implements and tomobako.
