Beautiful troop helmet model 1876/1907 of the Paris Horse "Garde Républicaine".
This is the helmet adopted in 1876, whose brass headband was modified around 1907. It is adorned with the coat of arms of the city of Paris and the motto "Fluctuat Nec Mergitur" (it is beaten by the waves but does not sink), and bears the Legion of Honor - awarded to the city of Paris in 1900.

The crest, also in brass, features a mask and its sides are decorated with gadroons, palmettes and water leaves. The bomb, visor and neck cover are made of nickel-plated steel.
The bomb is stamped on the back (see photo):
1/ With the manufacturer's stamp "Siraudin".
2/ The head size "60 ".

The helmet is complete with its scaled chinstraps and sports a beautiful black mane measuring approximately 75 cm in length.
Original black leather inner cap with basane-covered visor and neck cover.
All original parts in very good overall condition. Minor wear to headpiece.
Sold with a later scarlet feather plume.
Total helmet height (excluding mane): 33 cm.
