Charming little Louis XVI-style mahogany-veneered chest of drawers, quality work from Faubourg Saint Antoine circa 1930.

Of ideal proportions, this chest of drawers rests on 4 beautifully turned barrel legs adorned with bronze sabots at their tips.

the body has a slightly protruding center and opens to three drawers in the front with geometric veneer decoration featuring Louis XVI keyhole escutcheons and bronze pull knobs.
the sides are rounded and feature attractive geometric veneer work in squares, or more accurately quartefeuille.
an attractive recessed belt highlights the movement above the feet, and this movement is echoed on the very violet brocatelle that tops the ensemble.
the brocatelle is original.
the drawers are dovetail-mounted and work perfectly.
no major restoration to report, this chest of drawers is in excellent condition and has received a satin varnish that is not flashy, sober and light.
