Painted Alpine Chest Dated 1801
Painted Tyrolean chest dated 1801
Painted chest dated 1801, decorated with floral motifs, typical of the Alpine tradition of 19th-century Central Europe.
Technical information:
Antique painted fir-wood chest, featuring predominant brown tones with a faux-marble effect. The front is articulated by a sequence of arched panels on a blue-green background, each decorated with floral motifs.
At the center appears the date (1801), accompanied by the inscription of a personal name, in keeping with the tradition of wedding and dowry chests from the Alpine region.
The shaped lower section features two painted panels with a green background and white foliate motifs. Painted geometric borders decorate the sides and the lid.
Inside, the typical small side compartment is preserved in excellent condition, designed to safely store small personal items.
The surface displays a uniform patina that enhances the character and value of the piece.
