Engraved dance paddle, with slender form ending in a point. One side is adorned with the figure of the divine being Kokorra and geometric motifs; the whole is colored with light, ochre and black pigments. The Kokorra wears the headdress of the initiates of the Ruk-Ruk society.
The back, features a median ridge, and is decorated with ochre and light pigments.
These paddles are objects of power and social prestige. They are used for boat inauguration ceremonies or dignitary weddings.
Kokorra is a spirit that symbolizes protection.
