Italian Art Deco Bar Cabinet With Sculpted Swans And Gilt Bronze Column, Ca. 1940
Artist: .
An Italian bar cabinet from the first half of the 1940s, featuring an oval body veneered in fine flamed maple, supported by two finely crafted and ivory-lacquered swan sculptures.
At the center stands a refined turned gilded bronze column, a highly elegant and rare element for this category.
Inside, the door reveals a rich paneling of beveled and striped mirrors, with shaped shelves, typical of luxury Italian bars of the Art Deco period. The original stamped brass handles with a leaf motif enhance the sinuous aesthetic of the cabinet.
The shaped solid wood base completes the composition with a fluid and harmonious line.
Italy, 1940–50. Materials: flamed maple, brass and bronze, carved and lacquered wood, beveled glass and mirrors.
