Two Small Bronze Effigies, 17th Century. France
Two bronze sconce statuettes, 17th century, one depicting Mary Magdalene (?), holding a vase in her left hand, uncovering her left leg, and wearing a cloak held in place by a clasp. The figure stands on a console decorated with palmettes.
'The other statuette, also a woman, dressed in an ample gown, carries what looks like a vase filled with flowers.
These statuettes were probably mounted on a piece of furniture. They are not of the same workmanship, and provenance, they were presented on the same worn red velvet and framed with an antique baguette.
