Large Oil On Panel, Flemish Landscape, 17th Century.
Beautiful oil on wood, a lively landscape with a monumental tree on the left, a river scene with houses on either side of the banks, a boat and fishermen, and a village in the distance against a mountainous background. To the left, figures tend a flock of cows and sheep. In the background, a dovecote. A vast, cloudy, and turbulent sky. The panel is cracked and has been reinforced or glued with Dow using a wooden strip. Apart from this crack, it is in very good condition. Flanders, 7th century.
