Louis XIII "X" crotch desk.
The base rests on a turned fluted sheath form with a toupille base.
The "X" crotch includes alternating flat and chamfer.
In the center, a disproportionate toupille establishes the period.
The molding is juxtaposed to the waistband.
The top, also in walnut rests on a corbelled beak molding.
The proportions and identical four faces make this middle table highly functional.
