First World War British Helmet And Cover

First World War British helmet with original cover and nape. Standard Brodie Model "B" helmet with excellent original khaki green textured paint on exposed underside. The cover has not been removed, but it can be assumed that the shell retains a similar amount of paint. The black waxed canvas inner cap shows light wear and the owner has written his details in pencil on the leather chinstrap 'T Keats 379191'. The leather chinstrap is broken but present. The khaki KD cover is a four-piece and has a fastening strap with eyelets for neck protection. The neck is in the same condition as the cover, with a stitched pattern and the 'WD' mark on its underside; it is attached to the cover by cotton ties. Good overall condition, with light wear and some rust marks on the cover. A rare set for theaters of operation in warm climates.
