Firefighter Officer's Helmet Model 1821/52, France Louis-philippe Napoléon III Period
Brass firefighter officer's helmet, model 1821/52.
Louis-Philippe period circa 1830/1840, modified under the Second Empire with the replacement of the "rooster" front plate by a plate featuring an imperial eagle.
Brass crest decorated with gadroons, foliage and a flaming grenade. It is topped by a large original black horsehair "chenille".
Front plate with imperial eagle inscribed "Srs Pompiers Dévouement de Rosnay".
Mobil visor richly decorated with foliage and fire axes.
Brass chinstraps stamped with scales and mounted on leather.
Fairly good overall condition. A few knocks, interior missing, one chinstrap fabric cord missing, some black hair missing on the front part of the "chenille".
Overall helmet height 40 cm.
