Ten Kate Portrait Nude Cobra Couple In A Gouache Interior

Original sketch sheet, recto in gouache: interior scene depicting a nude couple, the woman reclining on a bed, the man seated nearby. Work signed and dated 1969, in an intimate register, between nude study and genre scene.
On verso: felt-tip drawing depicting a woman sitting at a table, her head resting on her hand - a second, faster and more graphic study, which makes this sheet a particularly interesting "double-sided" piece.

The gouache structures the scene with solids and values, emphasizing the posture of the bodies, the relationship between the figures and the reading of the space (bed / interior). The treatment remains deliberately synthetic, faithful to the studio spirit: overall accuracy, economy of detail.
