18th Century, Italian Barocchetto Carved And Lacquered Wood Bench
18th Century,
Italian Barocchetto Carved and Lacquered Wood Bench
This bench was crafted during the Barocchetto period (Rococo) in the mid-18th century in Piedmont, Italy. Made of carved and lacquered wood, it features a sinuous and undulating silhouette. The seat, upholstered in antique rose velvet, is in excellent condition. The wooden frame has a shaped profile, with a yellow-lacquered edging surrounding the apron beneath the seat, lacquered in sugar-paper blue, and six cabriole legs typical of the Barocchetto style. Originally conceived as a wall bench, it stands out for its elegance and visual lightness. Highly decorative thanks to its delicate color palette, it can also be placed at the center of a room—in entryways, hallways, living rooms, or at the foot of a bed—blending easily with both antique and modern furnishings.
