Clairette Petrucci (1899-1994) was a Belgian painter. She was the wife of the famous sculptor Marcel Wolfers. Her mother was Claire Verwée, the youngest daughter of animal painter Alfred Verwée. Daughter of writer, sociologist, art critic, sinologist and art dealer Raphaël Petrucci (1872-1917).
She painted after training at La Grande Chaumière in Paris, where her teachers included Lucien Simon and René Ménard. Clairette moved between the "beau monde" of Brussels and the art scenes of the Belgian and French capitals. She exerted a particular
attraction on authors and artists, being for example the muse of the Dutch avant-garde writer Edy Du Perron (1899-1940). After an extended honeymoon in Italy, Eastern Europe and Greece, the couple settled in a luxurious modern apartment designed by Jean-Jules Eggerickx in the heart of Brussels. Their interior was photographed and published in the leading Italian magazine Domus in 1930. During the Depression years, Marcel and Clairette had to move and decided to settle permanently in their former country house in Chaumont-Gistoux. They each have their own studio. She has had very few exhibitions and has long remained out of the art world's interest. Her work came to light during the exhibition Trésors cachés d'un couple d'artistes, in 2017 at Galerie St-John in Ghent. The vast majority of her paintings still belong to the family.
