Jean Van Noten (1903 - 1982). Belgian figurative and allegorical painter. He was a designer of tapestry cartoons, stained glass windows and postage stamps. Student at the Brussels academies. His teachers were Victor Horta, Jean Delville, Constant Montald, Emile Fabry. From 1934 to 1961, he was artistic advisor to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, exhibitions and fairs department. He worked in the Belgian Congo.
In 1949, he was sent to the USA by the Belgian government as artistic advisor for the New York Exhibition. He stayed there for 10 years.
