Louis XVI Style Private Sitting Table, Carved And Patinated Wood
A carved wooden "S-shaped" tête-à-tête chair, allowing for seating opposite each other. In the Louis XVI style, characterized by its architectural and symmetrical structure, it rests on tapered, fluted, and reeded legs. The apron is adorned with connecting blocks decorated with rosettes and discs. The uprights feature openwork supports with stylized lyre motifs. The crossbars and brackets are embellished with carved plant motifs (acanthus leaves, garlands). There are molded circular panels on the front. The openwork back connects the two seats and is surmounted by carved decorative elements. The armrests are free-standing and structured. The wood is re-lacquered in a gray-blue hue, with gilt highlights emphasizing the reliefs. Traditional upholstery, padded seats covered in a velvet-type fabric in olive/gold tones.
