A Louis XIV period Boulle marquetry cartel clock, early 18th century, signed Talon le fils in Paris, with its restored Louis XIV Boulle marquetry case from a later period (19th century). The marquetry is in good condition, with minor losses and wear on the upper and sides of the case. Complete with keys and pendulum, suspension modified by Brocot in the 19th century. The movement is working, the striking mechanism needs restoration; sold as is, without guarantee of working order. Case height: 132cm; Length: 46cm; Width: 33cm; Top: 43x29cm; Case height: 80cm including the marquetry, Length: 34cm; Depth: 14cm; Total height: 212cm. Attractive gilt bronze ornamentation in good condition. The bronze on the door depicts Geography, with bearded men at the base of the case.
