A Finely Chased And Gilded Bronze Portico Clock, Empire Period, Circa 1800
A finely chased and gilded bronze portico clock, Empire period, circa 1800, resting on a circular base adorned with friezes decorated with swans and antique motifs. The enamel dial with Roman numerals is signed by an elegant guilloché decoration in the center, protected by a domed glass. The two-hole winding movement runs with its original key (present). The architecture is particularly remarkable: two columns with antique-style female figures (caryatids) support the whole, surmounted by an eagle with outstretched wings, an imperial symbol. On either side, stylized pine cones complete the decoration. At the bottom, an openwork pendulum in the form of a vase with swans adds lightness and refinement. French work from the very beginning of the 19th century. Very good overall condition, luminous gilding, fine chasing. Movement in working order. Dimensions: Height: 40 cm Width: 22 cm Depth: 13 cm A decorative piece Elegant and emblematic of the Empire period, ideal for a fireplace or a classic interior.
