Pair of Porcelain Figurines – Empire Cavalrymen – Imperial Guard & A. Cheval / Bessières – H. 18 cm. An elegant pair of polychrome porcelain figurines depicting cavalrymen from the Napoleonic era, finely detailed and richly decorated. Each figurine features an officer mounted on a rearing horse, resting on a rectangular base with gilt relief decoration: One titled "GARDE IMPERIALE" (Imperial Guard), depicting a mounted drummer. The other titled "A. CHEVAL" / "BESSIÈRES" (A. Horse) represents a senior officer in a green and gold uniform. The horses are rendered dynamically (with their forelegs raised), and the uniforms are enhanced with gilding and vibrant colors (green, red, gold, purple). The bases feature gilt trim and decorative elements. Dimensions: Height: approximately 18 cm. Condition: Good overall condition. Note: slight wear to the gilding and occasional micro-chips visible upon close examination (consistent with age). No major breakage. Hollow interior, marks under the base (see photos).
