Two Blackened Wood Boxes With Boulle Marquetry Decoration - 19th Century
Nice set consisting of two antique blackened wood chests, adorned with brass decorations in the taste of Boulle marquetry, of Napoleon III inspiration.
- The first, of elongated rectangular form, features elegant central cartouche decoration inlaid with brass and rosewood, framed by gilded fillets.
- The second, smaller, adopts a compact form with similar decoration, including a central cartouche bearing a decorative inscription.
Both cases are embellished with brass fillets, bronze keyways and original hinges.
The interior of the smaller case is fitted with compartment and trim.

- wear and rubbing of the blackened wood
- slight alterations to the inlaid decoration
