Large Two-part Renaissance-style Sideboard
An important two-part Renaissance-style sideboard, crafted from oak and featuring richly carved decoration in high relief.
The upper section, set back from the lower part, is punctuated by four female figures carved as caryatids, supporting the shelves and framing panels adorned with scrollwork, foliage, and medallions featuring profiles and mascarons.
The side panels are accented with scale motifs and architectural moldings.
The lower section opens with two richly carved doors, each centered by a mascaron surrounded by scrollwork and foliage.
The belt course is enlivened by a spectacular lion mask in relief, surrounded by arabesques and decorative motifs.
The piece as a whole features an imposing design, directly inspired by French Renaissance furniture, with an abundance of carvings characteristic of the historicist style of the second half of the 19th century.
Beautiful brown oak patina, which particularly highlights the depth and finesse of the carved decoration.
A spectacular piece of furniture due to its size and the richness of its ornamentation, ideal for a large room, a library, or a home with character.
