Regency Period Wall Sconce And Its Console
A Regency period cartel clock and its matching Boulle marquetry console, dating from the 18th century, with a brown tortoiseshell, brass, and gilt bronze movement signed "Le Loup à Chartres." The clock's body, with its flowing silhouette, is sumptuously decorated with gilt bronze in the Louis XV style, featuring asymmetrical scrolls, foliate tendrils, and finely chased cartouches. The circular dial with Roman numerals, punctuated by enameled cartouches, is set within a delicately ornamented frame. The lower section is adorned with a group of finely chased putti, lending the whole a graceful movement and a purely decorative elegance. Height: 107 cm Width: 42.5 cm Depth: 19 cm
