Artist: Pierre Thomas (1865–1930)

Framed dimensions: 34 x 39 cm. Additional information: We are actively seeking all works from the Crozant School, as well as any high-quality French and foreign paintings. About the artist: Pierre Thomas (1865–1930) was a painter from Limoges, associated with the Crozant School. He was the cousin of Paul Thomas, another important figure in Limoges painting, and was close to Eugène Alluaud and Léon Jouhaud, with whom he shared a similar artistic sensibility. Like them, Pierre Thomas exhibited regularly in Limoges, but also in Paris, notably at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Artistes Français. Deeply attached to his region, he frequently painted in the Creuse, in the heart of the Creuse Valley, a favorite of the Crozant artists, as well as in villages in the southern part of the department, such as Bourganeuf and Aubusson. His work today constitutes a valuable record of French regional painting, between tradition and modernity.
