Carved And Gilded Wooden Frame - Louis XIV Style - Napoleon III Period

A beautiful, richly carved and gilded wooden frame, made during the Napoleon III era in the Louis XIV style.

The structure features abundant and symmetrical decoration, characteristic of the decorative repertoire of the Grand Siècle: scrolls, stylized foliage, shells, and rocaille motifs.

The pediment is adorned with a central mascaron depicting a cherub's head, framed by volutes and finely crafted plant elements. The uprights are embellished with reserves carved in high relief, while the lower rail displays an openwork and dynamic design, lending the whole a great ornamental richness.

The original gilding has a beautiful antique patina with warm tones and wear that highlights the reliefs.
