Covered Vase In Delft Earthenware - Chinese Décor - 18th Century
Elegant 18th-century Delft earthenware covered vase with Chinese-style decoration. The baluster body resting on a molded pedestal is adorned with large reserves featuring characters in orientalizing landscapes, treated in a polychrome palette combining blue, manganese, green and iron red.
The decoration features lively scenes with figures, stylized vegetation, rocks and architecture, inspired by Chinese and Far Eastern (Asian) porcelains highly prized in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. The shoulder and lid are also richly decorated with stylized motifs and geometric friezes. The lid grip, in the extension, is adorned with characteristic bluish spots.
Beautiful, slender form typical of 18th-century Delft production. The whole presents a beautiful harmony of colors and a significant decorative presence.
