Satsuma Japanese Ceramic Vase – Meiji Period
A Japanese ceramic vase with Satsuma decoration, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Baluster shape with a flared neck resting on a pedestal. Ivory base covered with a crackled glaze. Polychrome floral decoration depicting chrysanthemums, executed in red, blue, and green glazes with gilt highlights. Shoulder and neck adorned with geometric and floral motifs in relief, with gilt and colored backgrounds. Hand-painted signature under the base. Dimensions: Height: 18 cm, Width: 9 cm. Good overall condition. Glaze crackling consistent with the technique. Wear under the base due to age. Small chip on the neck visible in the photo.
