Pair of Napoleon III period display cabinets, in the Louis XV-Louis XVI Transition style, marquetry and marble. A beautiful pair of Napoleon III period display cabinets, French work from the second half of the 19th century, inspired by Louis XV-Louis XVI Transition models. Beveled glass. These elegant pieces feature a curved structure resting on cabriole legs ending in bronze sabots. The fronts are adorned with rosewood veneer arranged in a frieze, framing a central marquetry medallion decorated with a floral basket motif, typical of the decorative repertoire of the late 18th century. Each cabinet opens with two glass doors revealing interior shelves, ideal for displaying objects or collections. The uprights are embellished with gilt bronze mounts. The whole is topped with a red veined marble slab, molded on the front. High-quality decorative work, characteristic of the Napoleon III period, elegantly incorporating the codes of the Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. A very attractive pair.
