Master on July 31, 1775. Established on rue de Charenton, this craftsman successfully dedicated himself to the creation of bed and chair frames, collaborating with various ornamental sculptors. Denis Julienne, who became a master craftsman in 1775, was undoubtedly related to another Denis Julienne who had been upholsterer to Louis XIV and the Duke of Burgundy at the beginning of the 18th century. He was one of the suppliers to the Marquis de Paulmy, Governor of the Arsenal, and, through the Presle brothers, fashionable upholsterers, contributed to the furnishings of the Marquis de Girardin. His workshop was still in operation in 1805. He is credited with pleasing pieces bearing his stamp: classic Louis XVI chairs, simply decorated with moldings and a few carved motifs. The sculptors Nicolas Poiron and a certain Haguette sometimes countersigned his works. Louis XVI period, 18th century, circa 1780. Dimensions: Height: 85.5 cm Width: 57 cm Depth: 56 cm Seat height: 44 cm In good condition. Beautiful patina, minor wear to the lacquer in some places.
