Carpet - Khorjin Avshar. Caucasus. Circa 1900. 70 X 68 Cm
A true work of art, a bouquet of flowers, roses, a remarkable piece, crafted by the Avshar people of the Caucasus. Woven and knotted wool upon wool. A work of great precision that reveals the full expertise of Armenian weavers. The diverse palette of plant-based hues creates a relief effect, as if each flower were leaping from the surface. The indigo blues are exquisite; there are no fewer than four varieties, varying in density and saturation. The red ochres are marvelous and lend all the necessary depth to this almost pictorial work. Circa 1900. Perfect condition. Dimensions: 70 x 68 cm. Perhaps ready for framing! Laurent, Beauty of Kilims. Want to send flowers to someone special?
