Rare Medieval Flail Head – French Bronze Model, 13th-14th Century

Rare Medieval Flail Head – French Bronze Model, 13th-14th Century.

Exceptional and extremely rare medieval flail head, dating from the 13th and 14th centuries.

This model, of French origin, was used primarily by cavalry. It is distinguished by its solid bronze construction and its characteristic "spiked" shape, designed to maximize impact in combat.

Originally, this head was attached to a leather strap passing through its bronze ring, itself attached to a handle. The combined effect of movement and kinetic force gave this weapon formidable striking power.

Examples of this type are extremely rare on the market, with very few known to exist today. For reference, a very similar head was offered at the Hermann Historica sale on May 17, 2022 (lot 1198), attesting to the interest and rarity of this type of piece.

An exceptional collector's item, a testament to medieval weaponry, intended for discerning enthusiasts and demanding collectors alike.

Dimensions: 4.7 x 10 cm.
