The piece features a two door cabinet with secretaire drawer, surmounted by a refined mirrored superstructure with pierced brass galleried top, supported on turned rosewood columns.The lower section is constructed in richly figured solid rosewood and includes three short mahogany lined frieze drawers above a long secretaire drawer with a fitted interior, over a pair of brass grille doors enclosing a shelved interior. The doors are flanked by brass mounted rosewood columns and the whole stands on a plinth base. The chiffonier retains its original key and working locks.The rosewood has acquired a beautiful, mellow patina, enhancing the depth, warmth and natural figurative of the timber, a hallmark of the finest Regency cabinetmaking.
